A personal shift seems to be at hand
My body told me it was time to detox and cleanse so I am starting the Master Cleanse tomorrow (Monday) and going for ten days. When I had gastric bypass surgery 11 years ago, we had a mantra of sorts that we would share with all the newbies. It was this: "I didn't say it would be easy. I said it would be worth it." So, I've adopted that as mine for this go-round.

When I told my friend that I was doing this, she commented that I must be making room for something really big and it dawned on me that was definitely the case. One of my hypotheses is that the clearer I become physically, the clearer I become as a channel. I will be testing that out to see how true it is.

Anyway, just wanted to share this with you guys since I am feeling like it will be pretty profound. I'll be blogging my way through it at ye olde Snarkypants (www.snarkypants.com) if it piques your interest. :)

Peace,
MC

Okay day 1 - rough night (migraines which I've never, ever had) and general feeling of bluckyness. This too shall pass (I hope!)

3. mysticalchick, do you drink things with caffeine in them?
If so, if you're not drinking them during this cleanse, the headache may be due to caffeine withdrawal. I know that I have to make sure that I get caffeine over the weekend. Otherwise, I have very bad headaches.

I'm glad that you got through successfully. Congratulations! I hope that you start feeling better today.

4. MC
I'm going to be trying the MC later this month when I 'stop smoking' again. I'm planning a couple of modifications since I'm coming off a bunch of junk. I'm going to use a green drink (barley, etc) also. I think you might benefit from drinking some mint tea. Are you taking the laxative tea as suggested? Other cleansing herbs like corn silk and milk thistle would be good too I would think. Hot epsom soaks, don't forget them. The caffeine withdrawal headaches scare me the most. I may have to come up with an alternate plan to deal with that. Do you use a lot of caffeine?

Adjunct cleaning procedures might be in order, as you feel inclined:

5. Good info ... thanks!
I am trying to do it 'by the book' so Lax tea at night, salt water flushes in the am, 6 or more "lemonade" drinks a day (only made 5 yesterday - doing better today). And yes, I loves me some coffee and I know that's part of the headache issue. It sucks!

I'm not at all tempted by food (but I'm just day 2) and even managed (so far) to get past lots of my triggers (sitting at my desk being oh so bored) so I know I was in the right mindset to do this. I'm following along with a group from Young Living (the essential oil people) and someone led us in some EFT tapping Sunday night to start the cleanse and that has helped HUGELY. Discipline is not my strong suit (or even a suit in my closet!) so I think I've amazed even myself that I've gotten this far.

YEY me!

You're an inspiration for me, that's for sure. Great that you have a group for support!

btw, I think mint tea is in the book. The chlorophyll 'sweetens' the body. I could be wrong.

Do you still have a headache today? Thanks so much for sharing this with us.

7. Headaches are gone ...
... they may make a re-appearance but that's okay. I will deal.

I actually have mint herbal tea here at work that I drink just for variety. I drink plain hot water with a bit of lemon in it, herbal tea and of course, the ever lovely lemonade drink. MMM! LOL

8. Checking in ...
I'm still hanging in there on Day 4 - down 7lbs and feel fine. I am so thankful to my angels and the Universe for assisting me with this because it's pretty profound. I don't crave food the way I thought I would and my energy is good.

So, I continue shifting. :)

Bravo mysticalchick, am inspired to do the very same cleanse asap!...Instead of maple syrup, will use agave syrup=no pancreas involvement...and have heard that Capricorns would do well to cut down on lemons...sometimes reads alkaline, sometimes too acidic for Cappies for some reason, is it bones/arthritis?

Had a fantastic psychic reading from you mysticalchick, can't thank you enough...this is your and Lisa's true calling, imo:) We need your wisdom at this volatile time!!

13. Thanks for checking in ..
Wednesday I moved 200 miles north, and just got back online tonight. :( My 1st ex-h, my son's dad, found out I was going to be on the streets, and offered to let me stay with him until I've got at least my paperwork and medical stuff in order. I stayed here 1.5 years about 6 years ago. We've known each other so long .. no romance, nothing like that. Just someone who wants to see me eat! I have gotten in a terrible habit of hardly ever eating, snacking on peanut M&Ms or eating once a day. I've had to get on yogurt so my stomach can accept food again. Ironic that once I get stabilized on eating again, I'm planning this fast. He is going to give me a hard time, trying to force feed me. I think I'll ask him to read the book.

How's your group doing? I just think that is such a wonderful idea. Do you all stay in touch for support?

12. I've done that exact same cleanse at least 6 times over the years.
I always have major caffeine-withdrawal migraine headaches, complete with vomiting, incapacitation, the works....but once I get through the first day, I'm better.

Days 1-5 are the hardest

Day 8 has generally always been a Peak Day for me. Feel clear, lucid...it's great.

The longest I've gone is 21 days.

....and I've got 2 school-age kids and was having to make meals for them, throughout!

I lived to tell about it. Good luck to you! Keep on squeezin! :hi:

You go, girl! That's awesome! Being around food doesn't bother me in the least. (Again, odd)

The caffeine headache and nausea was only on Day 1 night and Day 2 morning. Otherwise, no problems with that. (And I loves me some coffee!)

14. Day 6 and going strong
Hi gang ...

Thanks for all the kudos. Seriously, I am shocked beyond belief that this has been so effortless for me. I feel great, consistent energy throughout the day (no 3pm low blood sugar sleepies), wake up at 530-6am feeling good. I worry that I'm not detoxing because of how good I feel but I'm trusting that all is as it needs to be and I will keep stepping forward.

I generally have NO discipline at all and so this turnaround really strikes me as profound. I am listening to my body (which I have never really done before) and trusting in its wisdom. My intention is to stay off sugar, caffeine and general crap and work on eating what nourishes me.

The EFT "Turbo Tapping" that I did the night before has played a big part in it, I think. Regina, the woman who did the call, has a board dedicated to all kinds of cleanses: www.ylcleansers.com - the YL is Young Living essential oils. She made a recording of the telecall with the tapping verbiage and I think I'm going to get that to have because I plan on future cleanses (probably in July - maybe 2x a year).

If you guys are thinking of doing it, I recommend Regina's forums - still small so you get lots of info and encouragement. I also hang out on www.therawfoodsite.com which has a kick ass MC board and tons of info. (I am Mysticalchick just about everywhere now on the Internets so that's me posting if you happen to see it.)

My friend and I are going out looking at houses today (for her) and she wanted to take me to dinner which I declined. (She knows about the cleanse but doesn't know what it entails.) She then said "Well, can you at least go out for a beer?" heheh Bless her heart. That made me laugh. Oh! and someone on the MC board posted that they had dreams of "licking a munchkin at Dunkin Donuts" which caused others to speculate that it might be about more than food! hehe

I will keep you all posted!

19. Here's the link to the site ...
http://ylcleansers.com/index.php?topic=88.0

Regina discusses the call and the tapping stuff. Check out the board if you like - she's just starting it up but there are such nice and helpful people there for all kinds of cleansing and whatnot.

And here's the text of an email I got which has a link to a site with some guided tapping (for free!) that seems pretty cool.

From Dr. Leanne Deardorf:

We had a great show yesterday "Talkin' Scents about EFT" with Deborah
Miller. We were able to tap on meeting new people, gaining self esteem
and confidence. We were having so much fun that time flew and we ended
abruptly.

So I wanted to put some closure on the show. Deborah has some gifts
for you at www.snipurl.com/eftgift and if you want to contact her,
her website is www.findthelightwithin.com .

If you want to go back and listen to the archive of the show or
download a podcast then go to www.blogtalkradio.com/DrLeAnne and go to
the bottom of the show and you will see the download and play buttons.
The website for the tapping points that goes along with the show is
www.snipurl.com/eftpoints.

I wanted to add that as we tap on the points if there is a certain
emotion that you want to release it is very powerful to smell the
corresponding oil and put it on your fingers as you tap. Some of
emotions and oils are listed below:

Fear – Valor
Doubt- Believe or Hope
Abuse-Sara or InnerChild or Trauma Life
Anger- Release or Forgiveness
Sadness- Joy or Hope or Peace and Calming
Pride- Humility or Surrender

Other oils to consider while tapping are Transformation, Magnify Your
Purpose or Highest Potential.

So get tapping on the things that are holding you back from achieving
your dreams this year!

Next week, I will talk about using the Oils combined with the Law of
Attraction.

The following week I will have an open airway to answer questions
about Oils and Natural Healing. You can also email me before the show
and I will choose some of the best questions that can benefit a lot of
people to air on the show.

Due to the huge amount of mail that I get, I cannot answer every email
nor can I guarantee that your question will be on the air. My
secretary will be choosing the questions for me. If you have a
specific question that you really want answered that isn't answered on
the air please contact me through my website: www.talktodrleanne.com

I am told that if you are listening to the show on the website that
you have to register in order to get a microphone to talk otherwise
you can use the call in number.

Yours in Health,

Dr. LeAnne

20. Just an update ...
I just finished my cleanse and even went beyond the 10 days (I completed 12). I am down 14 pounds but gained a lot of interesting insight.

1. I realized how much I beat myself up over my food choices and how that beating up affects the rest of my self-esteem. 12 days free from making those choices meant 12 days free from trashing myself. I was free to like myself and all that I do. It was pretty amazing to note. I've spent a lifetime feeling bad about my body, my food choices, everything. As I go back to eating (but with a very different perspective on it), it will be interesting to note how that affects how I feel about myself at this point.

2. I didn't miss food much at all, actually. Except for day 11 when all I could dream about was some yummy chicken pad thai- heh. It was a nice break. Today, though, I want a big greek salad. MMM.

3. It showed me that I can follow my intuitive guidance to do what I feel is best, even in the face of umpty-million friends and family being all concerned and whatnot. (bless their hearts) And I was clear enough to hear when my body said "thank you, I'm done for now." which is amazing because I'm usually too busy sedating it with crap to hear much of what it says.

On a physical note - I felt really good probably 10 of the 12 days and even the 2 less than stellar ones were fine. Just low-energy more than anything else. My morning achy creakys left, I had plenty of energy, slept pretty well, woke up easily.

I plan to do this again either in the spring or July. Not sure which yet.

So, YEY for shifts!! :-)

How are you coming off of your fast? What foods are you eating and how many days will it take you to come back to whatever is a regular food day for you?

23. Thanks!
Last night I drank some orange juice (fresh squeezed ... MMM) and today I am eating some veggie soup and broth. To go by the books, post fast day 1 is only OJ, day 2 is OJ in the am and veggie broth in pm and day 3 is veggie soup or something. I went to the store and bought some organic veggie soup, some hummus (craving that) feta cheese (that too) and salad mix. So, we'll see how the soup goes. So far, so good!

It should be a 3 day post cleanse ramp up. Some do it faster, some do it longer. I'm just listening to my body (and I can hear those digestive juices waking up as I type this!).

Yes, organic if possible, each 1/2 lemon makes one "lemonade" so I would do 4 lemons = 8 glasses.

Don't forget the maple syrup should be GRADE B

Check out www.therawfoodsite.com for lots of good info and support!

I'm done with the physical detox but going through a rough emo one - all my comfort foods are gone. I know it's necessary but it sucks.

Will do the lemon cleanse again prob in March.

since going off the cleanse. I don't feel the urge to drink it the way I did before. Nor have I eaten ANY sugar in almost 3 weeks (which is a biggie for me). I'm trying to eat as close to nature as I can. I loved doing the cleanse. The energy and lack of worrying about what I ate was awesome. :-)

your blog and the rawfoodie email list.

It seems like you struggle a lot with an inner critic? I want to make a suggestion for you.
Have you ever gotten in the habit of giving yourself kudos?

Start with anything. "Great job"! "Way to Go"! "I handled that pretty well". (or "average", which really IS good enough) "Could have done better on a different day. Maybe". Stuff like that. I don't know if we ever get completely over that demon in our heads. Some people seem to lack any kind of self restraining voice (bush). But, for those of us who have it, can we be grateful we are not barbarians, are conscientious and just expect too much from ourselves, "sometimes"?

I was out earlier tonight with very low blood sugar. Was rude to the drive through clerk, through absolutely no fault of his. Kicked myself all the way home, but was able to forgive myself after I ate. With our chemical stew for brains, I am amazed that we are as civilized as we manage.
