Toning chamber - The Temple of Sacred Sound

I just "stumbled" upon this. I am a big fan of toning, although I didn't know that's what it was until several years ago.

Ever since I was little, when I didn't feel well I would....make a sound until it "matched" my body in such a way that I started to feel better.

I continue to do that to this day, though consciously aware of the healing vibration of sound.

The name Jonathan Goldman sounds familiar, though this organization is not. How lovely.

I'd say you already know the art :D

I have many of his CDs and hope to take his 9-day intensive workshop on sound-healing (probably next year.) He also has a radio show, but I never seem to remember to listen in. Here's his site, if you're interested: http://healingsounds.com

Also, what Goldman does is "overtoning" or harmonizing with yourself. I read one of his books on the techniques to do that and I have managed to get some overtones. I just don't know the tones well enough to know what note I'm hitting. The harmonics are most pronounced in small places, like my car or the shower. The shower may not be that great for singing, but it's perfect for overtoning ;)

There are some other places that are perfect for overtoning, like cisterns and water-towers. Here's one for an artist that has used a water-tower and David Hykes' site. I know they did some recordings in a large underground cistern.

Other groups around the world do overtoning, too. The Tuvans do "throat music" and they Gyuto monks do their very deep-voiced chanting.

I just did the "AH" room for a bit. Maybe we should set a time and day for getting people from here to tone in one of the rooms together. I can't tell just now if I was one of many toning, too, or not. But if we all did such a thing we might hear the others, if that's how it works :)
