Five things I'm thankful for
My husband didn't get the job. As a result, I'm a little blue. It's nothing that won't go away. I want to feel better. Therefore, it's good to remember the things I'm thankful for. There are so many others who are hurting right now. Hopefully, I can help one of them.

If you'd like to join in, I would love to see your list.

:loveya:

1. My husband.

2. President Obama.

3. Enough to eat, we're living inside, we have a little money coming in.

4. The love of our family and friends.

5. YOU

1. We are waiting for a check that is late and may be intentionally delayed...
Not a good feeling. So, I will join you.

I am grateful too for a house and food in the house.

My son and his opportunities to do what he loves.

My husband who is well.

My dog who is good for me to be around.

President Obama and the transparency of his admin so far.

The support of family and friends.

A computer to write this on! :)

Kind of helped. Thanks for reminding me... was getting a little emo before I found this thread. Wheeeewww.

I forgot you said 5 things so I took out cakes.

 This is a great thread.

I'm thankful every day for:

1)My life on this plane of beauty and contrasts, and working with Spirit as a partner in it.

2)My husband who said the most surprising thing to me last night that caused me to burst into unexpected tears of pure love and joy.

3)That my parents are still living and I have the opportunity to workout my childhood problems, honor them for their bravery in coming to the U.S. knowing no one, and their unconditional love no matter how I've screwed up in the past.

4)My siblings who are my very best friends to this day.

5)My husband's family love and constant generosity.

I'm using one of her pieces as my desktop background right now. I've made several using her work that I can switch around depending on the time of year, my current mood, etc. Love it!

9. What a lovely thread!
There is much to feel grateful for, and it helps sometimes when we are feeling blue to count our blessings.

I find gratitude in my heart this moment:

1.) For the home that shelters my wonderful little family — my loving husband, my beautiful daughter, and all of the furred, feathered, and finned ones who have chosen to share their lives with us: Cody, Callie, Basil, Judie, Lily, Cassie, Beefie, Stella, Schala, Mirri, Sammie, TeenyFishie, BigFishie 1, BigFishie 2, BigFishie 3, and BigFishie 4 — each of whom I am deeply grateful to have the opportunity to know and love.

2.) For the wealth of abundant blessings I receive daily from the small plot of land I’m honored to nurture and protect, for all that is green and growing both inside and outside my home, and for all the wild creatures who visit us each day (even the possum who sometimes eats my garden).

3.) For the present and future health of myself and all my loved ones, both near and far.

4.) For the embrace of friends and the depth of community I find with them, both in the physical world, and here in cyberspace (that means you).

5.) For the fertile earth beneath my feet that nourishes and sustains me. For gentle breezes and fierce storms that stir the air I breathe. For the flowing waters that cleanse and sustain me. For the glowing fire that warms and inspires me. And for the many blessings of Spirit which infuses my soul with hope and dreams, and guides my often fumbling steps along the path with love and patience.

11. Hey, and if I can add a couple...
:D

6.) For President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, and their beautiful daughters!

7.) For a Democratic majority in Congress (well, close anyhow)!

10. Thank you for starting this thread, as a reminder we ALL have so many Blessings
I'm sorry your husband didn't get the job, but it is really tough right now, hopefully things will start turning around soon.

These are not in any certain order.

1. For having a place to live and enough food to sustain us. We are also having difficulty with clients paying us. Going on overdue invoices for 2 months and they ignore our messages. :-(

2. For my family and ASHA friends. Also the people I met during the Presidential campaign.

3. For reestablishing my commitment to my higher self. ASHA has helped tremendously in this regard.:loveya:

4. President Obama

5. My kittie babies, especially my feral babies. Even tho I lost Kagome this past summer I'm grateful for the time we got to share each others love. I still miss her. I don't have pics of Kilala, and Steeva that I have uploaded.:spank:

14. Wonderful thread, Missy Vixen
Sending light to your husband so he gets the perfect job for his skills--one that will make him happy and bring your family enough funds for your comfort (and then some!)

I am thankful for so many things...

1. My family, including our three kittehs (even the bad one who poos on the floor). And the fact that my mother is still with us and rarin' to go at 84.

2. Good health.

3. Employment--that Mr. MG still has his job, that he has freelance backup funds in case he is parted from his job in the future, and that I have a freelance writing job that I adore--one that allows me to work with Spirit and meet other wonderful people who are also working with Spirit.

4. That we elected President Obama--and the bigger picture, that we chose the path of light over darkness for our future.

5. The friendship, education, and comfort that comes from everyone here on the ASAH board. I value each and every one of you. I had some hearts to give and only wish that I had enough to give everyone here at least 10 apiece! :hi:

18. MorningGlow, thank you so much.
A funny thing: My husband had coffee with another job-hunting buddy this morning; he brought home a card for a free drink. He brought me a blended lemonade (kind of like a Slurpee,) and the barista didn't think she made it right. It was fine, but it was nice of her to do this!

I thought about your good prosperity wishes! :woohoo:

15. Thank you MV for reminding us that we have so much to
be thankful for.

My list includes:

Family: Having had two wonderful parents and a husband who gave so much to their children/spouse, their country, and community. Even though they are no longer here on this plane, we feel their presence in many ways and are so grateful that they showed us how to keep our family strong.

Friends: Including those of you whom I've never met in the flesh. Thank you for commiserating/celebrating the ups and downs of life. May you all be equally blessed.

Home and creature comforts: I feel so fortunate, esp. in these tough economic times, to have good health, a snug home, plenty of food and clean water, a job, reliable transportation, and enough resources that I can share with others. Even though I complain of those nagging aches and pains that comes with aging, I am mobile, I can see, I can hear, and I can speak. I am blessed.

Three great cats and one wonderful dog who graciously share their lives with me. On second though, Lola might not be so gracious. Sometimes that cat acts like she's just barely tolerating the rest of us!

Country: For our country to have elected Barack Obama into office still amazes me. It seems like it happened so quickly, too, but I am so grateful that he is in office and I feel much more secure in knowing that our President is a kind, caring, and brilliant man.

Thanks again for starting this thread.

16. I am sorry your husband did not get the job
but, I am thinking that something better is waiting around the corner for him. I am sending some abundance energy his way.

I love this thread. For me, it is always healing to think about what I am grateful for, particularly when I am feeling down.

My list:

1. My children (have four) and grandchildren (have five and one on the way!). They have brought and continue to bring me tremendous joy.

2. My home. I border a protected wilderness, and, I love being able to look out my bedroom windows and see nature -- trees, stream, deer, squirrels, turkeys...peace!

3. My job. I was out of work for a long time in 2006, 2007, and early 2008. I absolutely love my job, and, couldn't be more grateful for this gift. I continue to thank the Universe for providing this.

4. My health -- I rarely get sick, and, I am very energetic "for my age". I have much gratitude for being able to count on getting up in the morning and functioning well. Much, much gratitude.

5. My friends -- here, at work, and, at home. Friends are always, always a gift!

Thank you very much for this thread!

24. I got carried away and forgot to add to today's.
1) My mother is completely lucid after she stopped taking supplements&vitamins along with prescriptions. YAY! She thinks I'm crazy for thinking she was crazy

2) My husband got a call from the same contract he lost in January to possibly begin again in March. Got my fingers crossed.

3) Work is going so well that I could burst from the love of it.

4) It stopped raining but there's possibility of more coming.

5) I'm waiting for our 8 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to arrive.

This is silly but I can't help it. This thread reminds of watching Wonderama as a kid in New Jersey. There was song Bob McAllister, the host, used to sing called "Have You Heard Any Good News Today."

Have you heard any good news today, today?
I wanna hear what you have to say,
wait 'till I get to the count of three,
and tell me all the good news you have for me, one-two-three!

Then Bob would point to a kid in the audience and he/she would say, "My mom just had a baby!" Or, "I got an A on my spelling test!"

26. My Saturday
Found out that my visit to the dentist was covered in full by our medical insurance--even the x-rays! :)

Plus Mr. MG kept MG Jr. amused so I could edit an article well before Monday's deadline...and I kicked ass, if I do say so myself! (I love cleaning up "messes" in the writing arena.)

3. Haven't had an acute glaucoma attack in 2 years!

4. Have time to enjoy the internets today.
