Suggestions for good healing cds - guided meditation, self-hypnosis...
Edited on Thu Feb-26-09 02:11 PM by Shallah Kali
I love and adore my Dr Thompson brainwave cds but I think I could do with something guided. I currently have IBS-d in a flair up and it is a royal pain to balance the right amount of medicine & calcium carbonate to control the symptom without giving myself a bad case of the opposite issue. I have read a bit on how hypnosis has been helpful for many people with IBS so I was wondering if anyone here had tried this route with success. Or at least has anyone tried any of Belleruth Naparstek cds? There does not to be seem to be many out there for IBS and she is the only one I have heard of before this.

btw I also currently have an anxiety disorder so anyone who has an issue exacerbated by stress knows what that does. while i am much better than I used to be I still fall back into the rut of panic and have to haul myself back out more often than I would like. suggestions for generalized health and relaxation cds will be gratefully looked into.

2. My husband makes his own
we have a machine that takes voice prints and then he uses a tone box to make the tones he needs to heal. He also uses the tones underneath music to relax into different meditative states.

3. I know this isn't a meditation solution but...
Have you ever tried eliminating wheat and gluten from your diet. I have and WOW what a difference
for my IBS.

Sometimes just breathing meditations are good too, especially for anxiety.

Peace IN

4. diagnosed w/celiac about 2 yrs ago, dairy in my teens, avoid fructose like plague
not that there is much to be found in GF/CF foods. My only diet 'sin' left is a little sugar in weak darjeeling tea. Yeah I know caffine is questionable but if I can't have a couple cups a day I would come unglued as it's the last treat I can have and I have had good periods even with it. I am extremely careful about cross contamination even having my own food storage dishes to put leftovers in so I won't get a molecule of gluten from my Mom's wheat spagetti on my leftover tinkayda.

right now there is some family stuff going on that triggered this flareup so I know it is the ibs kicking things up the richter scale of digestive misery.

5. It's such a struggle, isn't it
But you know about tinkyada pasta, so it isn't so bad after all. My life changed after tinkyada.
Have you tried Gillians angel hair yet? Or how about Bob's Red Mill Pizza crust?

Yummmmmmmm.

My meditation, the one I always return to is the dirgha pranayam, three part breath. Focusing on every inch of the inhale from the belly, ribcage, and chest
Exhaling in the opposite direction, emptying completely, nasal breathing, focusing on the third eye, always returning to the breath. It's not very ornate, but
wow is it powerful.

Sending you calming light.
Peace

9. pizza a no go
can't find a decent dairy free cheeze as most have diary protein casein which is what triggers allergic reaction.

my mind is like a hamster in a wheel on drugs that can't stop running so for me it is best to have something to think about besides just breathing, counting or reciting an affirmation or mantra for more than a couple of minutes. i know the whole point of such practices is to build dicipline but it doesn't build up fast enough for me!!!

7. Hey Blanche...I'd love to hear more
Edited on Fri Feb-27-09 03:25 PM by lildreamer316
about how this has helped you, if you'd like to share. I remember listening to a couple of her broadcasts on HayHouse (in the archives) but I never really stuck with it. Since it's popped up here in my awareness again, has it really been helpful for you? Has it helped your efforts at manifestation at all? Thanks!

Edit to add...I'm asking the Universe to send me the $28 so I can purchase her 14 day Proseprity Workshop set. It looks excellent!

11. Two that I've never mentioned before that I just love to use
Edited on Sun Mar-01-09 02:25 AM by Dover

for yoga, meditation (but not guided), hot baths, stressful days, putting babies to bed, etc., are
Seven Metals - Singing Bowls of Tibet by Benjamin Iobst and
Returning by Jennifer Berezan.

They are both very gentle, rhythmic and mesmerizing background music for those activities.
The first is just the bowls and other sounds, while the second has instruments and voices.

The day I purchased Seven Metals I had it in my car and happened to be picking up one of my
cats from the vet. Like so many cats, she HATES car travel and complains loudly the
entire time as though she were being tortured. So on this day she began her loud protests
and I slipped the CD in. After about 5 minutes she was completely quiet and calm, and I didn't
hear another peep from her. That's a pretty good recommendation, yes?
