Interesting dream this morning....
My doggies were with me throughout the dream travel -- Jakey by my side and Luna wrapped around my waist (both where they were sleeping, lol).

I discovered a basement beneath my basement. Jake found a large turtle near the entrance, which was basically just a hole through the ledge/rock. And then several smaller turtles appeared. The large turtle was flying around a bit to get away from the dogs, beating her legs like flippers in water, with smaller turtles hanging off her shell. I think she was a she :)

I wanted to investigate the basement beneath my basement, but somebody woke me up...

Left me curious about the meaning of a basement beneath the basement. I have some info on turtle medicine, but am open to others'. Also the medicine of flying turtles, lol...

1. You were in the House of the Never-ending Rooms...
And what is the House of the Never-ending Rooms? It is found on the upper levels of the Astral/Dreaming Plane.
The House of the Never-ending Rooms can take ANY shape/form. For example it can be your house, a castle, a gas-station, a shopping Mall etc.
The way you know it is the House of the Never-ending Rooms is there will ALWAYS be another "room"/basement and way into them..although the entrances can also vary a lot. For example there will be a door but its a tiny door you never saw before..or its a crack in the wall or a tunnel.
In the House of the Never-ending Rooms we meet teachers, other Lucid Dreamers that we can join up with, and people just dreaming at that level/rate of vibration.
One of the cool things about the House of the Never-ending Rooms is that there can be absolutely ANYTHING you want behind those doors.
For example you can open a door and walk into your body and look around there..or it can be the Hall of Learning where you can look at the Akashic records like in a library..or even by just going through the door and "seeing" for yourself..the past or future etc.
On the lower levels of the Astral Dreaming Plane we find the levels of where our inner mind is "sorting" and "filing" all the things you did and saw and as this includes also everything the sub-conscious also saw then sometimes we get a lot of symbols in this area of dreams.

2. The turtle was trying to show itself to you..
If you saw it four ways..it is your Totem spirit helper.
For example..from the side, from above, just a part of the body like a close up of an eye or from the front...
A Totem will also do something to show you it is not an "ordinary" spirit..for example a land animal might fly, or the animal spirit might speak to you.
If you are very lucky you will recieve a Power Song.

3. because the turtle was flying around
I guess it was showing me it was not an "ordinary" spirit and I saw it in multiple ways. From above, from below, and at eye level from the left and the right.

No power songs, alas. Luna woke up and started walking around...across my stomach!

I've been in the house of never ending rooms before. Sometimes attic rooms. Sometimes basement rooms. A couple times I've come across a zillion baby animals of various types that I forgot to water and feed and care for....for years. Somehow they are still alive, but not in the best of condition. I am running around trying to care for them. Sometimes its been all baby birds. Other times, many different kinds of animals. Hamsters. Gerbils. Bunnies. You name it...

5. Only you know the true meaning of that...
If it were my own dream I would have to say it was trying to tell me I needed to do more animal rescue work perhaps...
I used to do that a lot as a kid..rescue animals. People brought me all kinds of critters but that was long ago out in Wyoming.
To know this dream meaning..you must look into your own heart on the matter.

6. interesting idea...
It's been a long time since I last had the dream. I'm pretty sure the last time I had it my home was full up with a large number of rescue birds...they were among those in the dream that I'd forgotten. And I've had Algiers, my rescue horse, for almost 20 years now. And now I have 2 rescue dogs and a rescue cat as well.

I still remember the awful feeling of guilt while I was running around trying to feed and water them all...

15. So that's what it's called...the House of the Never-ending Rooms.
I used to call it the "endless interior" and for me it took the form of a kind of department store with escalators going to different levels. It occurs to me that I haven't had one of those "endless interior" dreams in a long time.

Re One of the cool things about the House of the Never-ending Rooms is that there can be absolutely ANYTHING you want behind those doors.

Ugh...I hate Akashic record dreams because they are SO frustrating! They have taken two forms with me in the past. They can be either library stacks with endless rows and shelves of books, or they can be one very big book like the Oxford unabridged dictionary chained to a lectern. But I am not allowed to actually READ any of the books (or THE book). When I'm dreaming I don't actually think "Akashic record" in so many words, but I know the book contains all the secrets of the Universe--everything I could ever want to know and more. But when I open it and try to read it, I can't quite make out what it says. I feel like I "should" be able to read it, but either it's in a foreign language or I can't quite make out the words.

I don't understand why I should be able to see the book and even know what it is, but not be able to read it.

7. I love those house dreams
I had a series of those a few years ago. It always said to me that I was discovering new things about myself.

Who do you suppose the dogs represent?

8. the dogs didn't represent anything
they were my waking life dogs, Jake and Luna. Their spirits were traveling with my spirit in my dream. That's all. Actually, that's everything, to me. :D

9. They are already your Totem Spirit helpers
A Shaman may have one spirit helper...or many. Some may come and go, some may stay always.
When we discover our Totems, it is time to really try to understand the gifts they bring us.
We study their particular attributes, such as in deer magic where we learn to move or when to stop and observe in the woods and in the world and what plants are good for us. Or perhaps as in Wolf magic where we learn that the family and friends/tribe are everything and we learn pack loyalty and how to provide for the helpless/children as well as work in a team for the good of all, etc.
Turtle is a good strong Totem and the Turtle is also very blessed by the Creator. Turtle was given the calendar of the world on his shell and is said to be the Spirit that dove down into the first waters and brought up earth on his back for the Creator to stand on. Turtle Island is the name that was given to the North American Continent because of this.

10. thank you...that makes sense
Jake was in the big dream I had last spring, too, when I died and came back. I was so weakened that our bond was not strong enough to bring me back, so I "left" him with someone who loved me, who I was sure would take good care of him. But then that someone pulled me back to this world with his tears...

Yes, Jake and Luna are my pack. That is how I think of them.

12. Something hidden about yourself is starting to come to your awareness
House dreams often represent parts of ourselves, basements and attics representing different parts that aren't normally accessed in waking life.

A basement below a basement sounds like it represents something very deep in you, something you really haven't been aware of yet. The turtle seems to reinforce that imagery - an animal known for hiding itself within itself. That the turtle appeared at the entrance of that deep space and flew around seems like a good sign that you are gaining access to whatever it is and that it's a source of power.

I think that you had your dogs with you was a sign of protection. That sort of underworld journey is usually 'dangerous' and scary on the mythical level. But it's where the rewards of a fully integrated self lie.

13. I love to hear about dream and interpretations.
Thanks for sharing. I think I have also experienced the neverending rooms.

I've also experienced many many dreams where I am a human, but when I travel someplace, I run on all fours and bound like a tiger - so much that I can actually feel the stretching in my muscles. I've had those dreams since a very little girl. Don't know the meaning behind them, but I figure they represent something since I'm 46 and every once-in-awhile I still receive them. In the dream, once I get where I'm going, I'm whole, acting/looking/moving human again.

14. We can shape-shift to our Totems on the astral/dreaming plane..
Edited on Wed May-13-09 02:59 PM by winyanstaz
and flying is also a common way of getting around.
Next time you fly in a dream, try to program yourself while falling asleep that if you find yourself flying..you will try to feel where the power to fly is radiating from.
You will find it comes from the solar plexas..and are bundles of light fibers which are pure light.
I have been an astral traveler for around 60 years now..I started as a very small child...I called it "getting out and looking" and until I was around 12 I thought everyone did it. It is never "scary" to be out of body as it has always been a part of my life.
Although I have had a few adventures that frightened me at times, (like the time I sat for hours in the middle of the earth crying my astral eyes out because I thought I was trapped forever...):P)...I have never been in any real danger.
I was frightened for a while because I believed I was trapped (not by being out of body)..but of course the moment I changed my mind I could move again.
As soon as I decided that moving was better than sitting there..I found a crack in the earth to follow which turned into a river and the underground river then brought me to the surface on the astral plane.
We move by the way we intend.
Intent is everything in real magic.
I also teach lucid dreaming and have been able to link up with students and family on the inner planes many times as can you.
The inner planes are far better mapped out than people realize.
Try reading the 14 lessons in Yoga Philosophy by Yoga Ramacharaka. You can find it as an on line book for free.
It is the advanced yoga of the ancient ones. Ramacharaka died a long time ago.
I knew it was a true book of power when I read it because he was the first one that could accurately describe what I had already been doing and the inner planes that I had already experienced.
At the end of finishing that book...I got to sit in the Light.
I am not promising everyone will..but it will give you an accurate map of the inner planes..which are also connected to each chakra.
