Astrology question...can opposites REALLY attract?

I know, it's juvennile but I am a little sprung on this guy and I just like to hear all the possibilities.
(yes, so I can plot how to seduce him most likely!)

He is a Cancer - sun/ Gemini- moon/ Cappy rising (July 19 1971 in Colorado, don't know the time but he knows he is a cappy rising)I am A Cappy - sun / Libra Moon and Libra rising... (Jan 1, 1970 in Oakland CA @ 12 midnight and 15 seconds)

we seem to have way more in common than not. Spiritually,we go to the same church, but also believe in totems and fairies... in life stories he has a lot of insight into my kids' and their relationships. He is also a smart guy and knows how to build and fix things (just like my Cancer ather who I admire for that quality the most!)
He has a knack for being a free spirit, and I have always felt liek I could never be free because of being a single mom... and he could be looking for a "home base" and I could do with some one to play with and show me how to have fun again. The dance of 2 steps fwd and 3 steps back is totally where we are at. I know he likes me back and yet he is still a bit skittish so I don't know when to be direct and when to be aloof until he feels more approachable ( not to mention his cancer self can get upset if he thinks I don't care, right?) ...he has only held my hand so far, which is a breath of fresh air - and really frustrating too! but this could be part of a bigger dance for us both, so I am willing to let it unfold over time. This summer he will be traveling ...but may come "home" to Tahoe by August... which also gives me some open time for continued self improvement


anyone else know about this "opposites" thing or a good reading on how our rising and moon signs complement?

1. the sidestep move is SOOOO interesting to watch

I have known for some time from friends and reading that Cancers take a side-step before darting in a difernt direction.

whenever I get too direct or make a straight move towards him - he fakes with a joke to deflect...

2. There are some really interesting things there.

His Capricorn rising puts his Sun in the 7th house, almost like being a Libra. Cancer on his 7th house cusp describes how he sees relationships and wants them to be. That means he wants to be mothered and fed, but Capricorn rising doesn't admit that too much. Capricorn Sun doesn't either. The air Moons want to analyze emotions. There's a certain amount of "come here, go away" in both charts, and at least you can talk about it. Personally, I'd hold out for three steps forward and two back. ;-) Abraham has favorite wedding vows: "I like you, you like me, let's see how it goes."

I totally get the push-pull effect. I just hope we can synchronize those needs so they are good for both of us at the right time! I AM certainly focused on own success and forward motion right now...and he is a "peter pan" type...always able to up & go where the wind takes him.... so I am trying NOT to be attached to him too much in my heart, but that's difficult because he is so damn sweet and attentive.

at the same time I totally like him and the chemistry is electric when we are just standing next to eachother - I have a friend who says she can't be next to us when we are talking...

soooo. i just want to get him to a point of where he actually ADMITS that he really IS into me like I'm into him...then the floodgates can open up a bit! lol
