It looks like I finally have a job!
I've occasionally mentioned on DU that I was unemployed, or more recently hold two part time jobs, neither one with benefits, of course. Just yesterday I got word that the local hospital wants to hire me to work the admissions office. I'm thrilled, because now, for the first time in about two years, I think I'll have some real stability in my life. I've been through a divorce after more than twenty-five years of marriage, relocated from Kansas to Santa Fe, got fired twice here, then of course had a lot of trouble even getting temp work in this economy.

Despite all that, I went ahead and bought a small place here, using money from my divorce settlement, and am currently in the process of moving. I had the new place completely re-painted, new floors and kitchen counters put it. The place looks brand new and I feel as if I'm truly starting over.

Some times it's been hard to keep my spirits up, but I kept on telling myself there had to be a reason I came here to Santa Fe. In a way this is just the beginning, but I wanted to share it with you here.

1. Congratulations!
I wish you all the best, particularly after all you have been through.

Would you mind sharing your sun and rising signs? I've been going through stuff for about two years too and was wondering whether our charts have anything in common.
I'm a gemini sun with libra rising.

5. I'm Virgo,and I think my
rising sign is Aries.

Most likely there are similar aspects in our charts that have analogous effects in our lives. That's assuming there's any validity to astrology, which I'm inclined to think there is. I also think that it is those various aspects, which are endlessly complicated and convoluted which is why it's hard to "validate" astrology in a way that convinces someone who thinks there's nothing to it. And why knowing just a couple of things, like sun and rising signs is interesting, but may not be enough information.

It is interesting when two people are going through similar life situations. The differences in our sun and rising signs to me just means that those two things don't link us in any way, but other things probably do.

2. YAY for SheilaT!
:applause: You most certainly deserve things nicely falling into place. I think there is a third one, or more, to follow. What's next, I wonder :)

3. three cheers!

So happy for you :)

I admire your belief that things would work out--you bought your house, did renovations, etc., all the while with jobs that sound like they weren't so much to your liking. And it takes a lot to pick up and move to another area of the country.

Things are settling in for you. Time to celebrate!

6. Thanks for the nice responses.
Even when things have been going badly for me here, I've still felt happy and confident that my decision to move here was a good one.

Possibly I'm on the edge of meeting someone, because in the past two weeks I've had a surprising number of people ask me how I am about living alone. To which I respond that I do like it, I am enjoying it. It's nice to only be concerned about myself right now. I have absolutely no interest in starting a new relationship, and can't imagine anyone being interested in me, but I realize that anything at all might happen.

10. WooHoo, what great news Sheila
I'm sure this will be a great relief to be able to work one job and have some stability in your life. Santa Fe is a wonderful place, I felt a lot of energy there when I spent some time there on a camping trip.

12. Congrats!!!
:applause: I know the feeling, my job went away in January and I've been temping at half the salary for the last 2 months, just trying to keep the lights on. Earlier this week I got a call that the company I worked for prior to the one I left in January, is extending me an offer, with a salary similar to what I originally left and benefits.

I've noticed over the last 72 hours that I'm taking many, many more 'deep breaths' than I normally do.
Guess it's time to exhale :-) and relax a little.

Best to you in your new gig!!
