Funny thing, I was the very first chat question, but as soon as the interview started the chat room went away. It took me a long time to figure out how to find it again. I eventually had to open a new window :blush:

If I hadn't re-read the book after Jeffrey posting here this week, I wouldn't have been able to remember enough details to ask anything intelligent. It was great to listen to him discuss the process of how the book came about. I'm ready for the second one to be published!

I agree with his approach about that as well. When you find yourself running into a wall, quit running into the wall. Try going around the wall instead, or look for a door or even learn how to jump over the wall :think:

5. I think that the problem that most people have is that they don't know...

what other options they have. They've heard of the Law of Attraction and "The Secret", so they try that approach. If that doesn't work for them, they're stuck.

7. Another analogy: There are various "Methods of Dance"

If one Dance isn't to your liking then find another one that is best suited to your style. There are various schools of Dance, it all comes down to what style determines your motivation to the Dance.

And yes it is a problem when people get stuck in only one form of Dancing.

11. Interestingly...

I've found that people enter this from many different directions. You'd be surprised at the people I survey who have run across this author or another, but never heard of any major one (or things like the Secret).

I think one of the issues is that when people find any of these materials, regardless of what the run across it tells them that it works for everyone and they don't need anything else. And that if it doesn't work it's their fault/they are doing something wrong.

There is an interesting dip in the sales of these types of materials historically around things like World Wars. After all, who wants to believe they are creating reality when the world seems to be falling apart?!?

It really impresses me when someone works hard to state things using non-paternalistic words and when they consider it worth the effort to go back and revise what they had previously stated to be in more gender-neutral terms.
