My jalapenos are turning black. |
Anyone else have this happen. I have a feeling it's sunburn because it's only where they are facing the sun. Any thoughts?

1. Black or red means that they are mature |
I have picked some green jalapenos that were not hot. You can be assured that your peppers are hot.
The peppers do not have to turn colors to be mature, though. If they are very large, they are probably mature also.

2. It's sun scald. We get it too. |
Not really a problem in terms of flavor or use as long as they're picked green. The scald mark does seem to make them rot faster when they're red ripe.
