1. wow!
I've got one little tomato that's forming....hoping the really cold weather will hold off until it ripens. :)

Cute visitor! Has he come back to visit?

6. . . . "Cute visitor! Has he come back to visit? ". . . - Yes!! - TODAY - Jan24
.
.
.

Took two pix of him/her this morning, one thru my window, one outside -

will post pix when developed,

I use 5$ throwaway cameras, so have to wait for developing

Ermine are carnivores, and I cooked meat on my outside/porch woodstove last evening

I wonder if that's what attracted him/her? I had seen no signs of it since I last posted

2. Bravo!
We had our first garden in 10 years, this year. We had 5 raised beds and planted lots of stuff outside the boxes too!

I love your "very creative" greenhouse!

Did you make green tomato relish, or fried green tomatoes? We ripened lots of ours in a ceramic Apple Baker.....Glazed on the inside of the piece and earthenware on the outside and inside of the lid. It worked well~!

3. ate most tomatoes raw and fresh, froze about 20-30 dozen.
.
.
.

Made a couple of batches of relish, and gave about another 40 dozen to the Food Bank over a period of two months -

YEAH

I had LOTS of tomatoes - I never expected TREES!

and in response to WolverineDG's query

yes, he's been back, but I've only seen his trail.

Apparently they like to stay under the snow to do most of their hunting - mice and moles being one of their favorite snacks

- and we got mice here!
