I called our state forestry department today
and ordered sand plum seedlings. Their minimum order was 100 and I'm splitting them with a friend. The total cost, including shipping via UPS was $65.

Gonna plant those babies and one day have some fine sand plum preserves. :9

Does anyone know how long they take to mature? That's about the only piece of info I've not been able to locate on them

:hi:

Good for you! :hi:

I found this site:
http://www.arbucklequ.com/Habitat/Cover/SandPlums.asp

I guessing 2 to 3 years.

Also, on the farm where I grew up we had what we called wild plums that grew at the edge of the woods. They look a lot like sand plums. They were yummy.

spelling corrections :eyes:

2. Same fruit.
We really wanted to put in something that would grow in our bad soil and that was a local variety of fruit.

Can't wait to have them! :hi:
