I'm hooked and am so excited! I never realized so much hard work could make me feel so good!!

Kitty watching me from her perch lol!

Baby Patty Pan squash and cabbages.

Bush beans, Limas, Kentuckey Wonders at the fence, Swiss Chard, cubanelle and habanero peppers, okra, Italian and regular tomatoes, watermelon, cantelope and cukes (some left over in the pots).

First of many I hope :)

3. Beautiful, I'm green with envy. Most of the New England folks
will have sorry gardens this year if we don't start getting some sun and warmth.

How do you like the hanging tomato thingies? You have obviously put in a ton of work, I'm sure you will be canning and freezing for quite a while.

4. Sending some NC heat and sun your way...
I hope to freeze alot of the beans and the extra tomatoes. Canned tomatoes got really expensive last year and we use alot. Hopefully the freezing will help our budget and the garden can pay for itself.

Those topsy turvy things are weird and cool at the same time. So far the plants don't seem to mind that they're growing wrong side up, lots of blossums and fruit should be setting on them any day now.

They are extremely heavy and I'm not sure how long that skinny Shepard's hook is going to hold them up. Should have used the hooks that came with the planter and attached to a big old tree.

Also we used leftover Celebrity's - 3 per planter. Should have either used 1 plant per planter or went with patio tomatoes. Too late now lol.

One thing though, tomatoes seem like such a thirsty lot and require lots of water so now I'm up to one full watering can every other day and predict an every day watering before the month's out.

I'll post some photos when I see the fruits set.

Hang on, better weather's comin'!

5. wow
Hi,
Looks wonderful, must be nice to get such early production. I love some yellow squash and would do some, but I just don't think I have the room. Good luck and I'll be looking forward to more pictures of your plants and your produce.

Peace

6. Thank you hibbing!
I didn't think I'd have room for them either that's why they have their own separate space, near the bird bath :)

Figured they'd take up too much space in the fenced in garden so took a chance that the pine tree roots + an extra bag of soil would allow me to slip some summer squash and peppers in there.

As long as the spot gets lots of sun and you can fit a bag or two of potting/garden soil in or around it, you can usually squeeze something edible in the strangest places.

Don't forget about pots. If the pot is big and tall enough, you can grow things in there too!

8. Isn't it so wonderful
to grow your own food?! Nothing tastes better than that which you've brought forth by your own efforts, and knowing you can do it is priceless.

You're doing a great job, nc4bo! :hi:
