I haven't heard this one yet, though I wouldn't be surprised. In addition to many other benefits, honey DOES have some anti-bacterial properties. It has been used to treat open wounds for centuries, and modern lab testing has confirmed this. Anti-bacterial properties could be good or bad for rooting.
We're interested, especially since we keep HoneyBees. I'm going to do some Googling and see what turns up. I'll also ask at out local BeeKeepers Association. Some of them have been keeping Bees for generations, and are a good source of "homegrown" information.
Beware of Honey sold on the store shelves. Most of it comes from China, and can be contaminated. Even roadside "Organic" honey can be mostly High Fructose Corn Syrup, either directly or "re-processed" through bees (fed to commercial factory bees).
I may start my own Bee Sting therapy as an arthritis treatment this Summer. I'm intrigued by the mountain of anecdotal evidence, but there is a lack of scientific testing. The lack of testing is understandable since it would be damn near impossible to conduct a double blind experiment on Bee Stings.
