I just learned something re tomatoes.

Just thought I'd pass it along. I planted about two dozen tomato plants of several different varieties back in January. I caged most of them but just as an experiment I let one Better Boy and one Roma lay on the ground. Every tomato that has had contact with the ground has been eaten by snails. I've caught the little boogers in the act. They seem to prefer the Roma over the Better Boy. The other plants seem to be doing OK. I've been eating tomatoes for about three weeks now. One other tidbit, I tried variety "BHN 602" just because I never heard of it before. I'm not impressed. The fruit is small and no better than average in flavor.
