1. And what a pretty first post it is!
:applause:

Envying your fuchsias... I tried growing one for the first time this year and, despite allegedly being a Spring-to-Frost bloomer that didn't need deadheading, is stopped blooming after the initial round of flowers. :( I suspect it may be the punishing heat we've had here, even though it's in a shady spot.

And you reminded me to check on my attempt to seed-save forget-me-nots this year. I have a bunch of flower strands between two paper towels-- so far about half have burst open and released their seeds. Not sure yet how I'm going to separate them from the clingy stems...

3. THey're actually bleeding hearts,
although I can see how you would make that mistake. A lot of people grow fuchsias in hanging baskets up here, but I don't happen to have any.

4. My grandmother always grew fuchsias, so it's particularly frustrating that I've failed w/them so far
Maybe I'll try bleeding hearts next. An appropriately-named plant for us liberal gardeners, no? ;)

5. I was told by a local guy
that fuchsias just cannot take heat at all. This after thinking my died last July only to see them come back to life in November. Course they can't take frozen either and did die in January. If yours are in pots maybe bring them in during the heat of summer?

9. The funny thing is, the plant is lush and green and making lots of new foliage, just no new flowers.
We live in a small house with no AC, so they proably won't like it any better than they do on the shady porch. Based on your info, I now have a little hope that it will bloom again once the heat dies down in the fall. :)

6. I love those blue poppies
though all your photos are beautiful. Good to see you enjoying the flowers. How has the greenhouse worked this year? (Can't remember if this is the first summer or second with it.)

7. This is my first summer with the greenhouse
and it's doing great. I started almost all my plants from seeds in the greenhouse and then planted them in the garden when it warmed up, and I now have tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers growing in there. The tomatoes are blooming well and the cukes are growing, so hopefully summer will be long enough to get some fruit.

8. See my mind is going.
Might be listening to people say nothing for hours. (testimony) I hope you get a bumper crop of good stuff to eat.Sounds like a great start. Sounds like you are having a bit more of a summer this year than last. Don't forget to get veggie photos when you get them. You never know what might scream for a place in my kitchen next.

11. Just gorgeous!
Your flowers look fantastic. My flowers are so sad from all the rain we've had here in Iowa. It's supposed to be sunny today, but more rain tomorrow.
