anyone ever hear of heirloom garlic before? |

I'm trying to decide what kind of garlic to plant this fall
went to the website of one of the largest garlic companies in the US to see what they grow and according to the website, their garlic is heirloom garlic
not familiar with it in the least

To me, both of those traits are a positive sign because it means the variety is pretty easy to grown. The downside of heirlooms is that some aren't as productive as hybrids but I don't know how that would matter with garlic.
I don't know about Alameda but over the hills in CoCo it's a great place to grow garlic.
