Cooperative Extension System Offices

This section of our Web site will help you find your nearest Cooperative Extension office. The Cooperative Extension System is a nationwide, non-credit educational network. Each U.S. state and territory has a state office at its land-grant university and a network of local or regional offices. These offices are staffed by one or more experts who provide useful, practical, and research-based information to agricultural producers, small business owners, youth, consumers, and others in rural areas and communities of all sizes.

Agricultural Extension services provide news and advice about all things relative to agriculture
in your area.

I use it for the latest info on plant diseases that are relevant in this growing season.
I hope you find the info relevant to your particular problems.

In my neck of the woods the information I get from Cornell University(NY) is up to date and
relevant.

you should try it too.

1. The website for my local is helpful, but I can never seem to get them on the phone.
They are perpetually "out of the office right now." :(

2. Honestly...
we've never really felt any need or use for them. They tend to give advice based on old models of farming and gardening based on petrochemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides. Not all both most seem to do this. It will be a while before there is a true sea change in their ranks, I fear.
