my new herb bed
I (with help of course) built this bed from grape vines. I'll line it with weed barrier mat then fill it with dirt.

This design is from England and is called a wattle bed.

2. you can make one too!1
It was really easy. The only hard part was finding enough materials. It took a couple of "raids" on the forest.

When we finish the fence, I am going to be so jazzed. I'm repeating the pattern on the other side of the garden and am putting a chicken house somewhere in here too.

3. Neat, nifty!
Lovely and very nice. It looks like a giant birds nest at this point -- just fill it with some straw and put some giant styrofoam eggs in there and you'd have quite the Halloween conversation piece.

Thanks so much for posting this here.

4. what a fab idea!
Maybe instead of styrofoam, I'll use some of the pumpkins I've got.

5. I'm so impressed by your project - lovely bed for those herbs
I see beautiful lavender, purple basil, and parsley/cilantros and others filling your handmade basket. Enjoy the seasonings!

7. I still want to see it full of giant eggs.
Maybe a pteradactyl nest?

It's cool. Should be very pretty when planted.

10. I just love that! Please share some more about your process.
It reminds me of some of the designs done with willow branches, only larger scale.
I know a good source for grapevines, so I'd really enjoy hearing more about
how you went about this project and what kind of help you needed to accomplish it.
And thanks so much for sharing it!

11. That looks lovely. Be sure to post some pictures when the herbs are growing.
I've been wanting to build one of these spiral herb beds.
