A couple of things from warmer days:

The first -- various brassica crops, potatoes, and some perennials (mostly poppies)

Mostly onions, peas, and favas

Hardy bamboo spring shoots (Phyllostachys aureosulcata, Yellow Groove Bamboo)

1. Everything looks so GREEN!
We just went from white (snowcovered) to mud today here in NE Ohio. Sure is nice to see even pictures of green! Maybe I will spend this evening looking through some gardening books and start planning what all to plant in the spring. I knew I came on this group tonight for some reason, I can start my spring planning now. Thanks.

2. This is probably a dumb question, but when you grow things
surrounded by plastic sheeting, how does the water get through to the plants? Do you put hoses that seep underneath? Great looking garden!

3. The plastic is perforated with small holes about 4 inches apart.
They just don't show up in the photo at this resolution. The holes are about 1/4 inch across. They allow all of the rain that falls onto the plastic to soak in to the soil below.

4. Thanks - I'll have to check it out in the spring.
It looks like the perfect solution to NO WEEDS.

5. Love the bamboo
Wish I had a place to grow it. I have a small yard and a lot of plants I want to find room for.
