Instead of expecting everyone to grub around over there and not forget some group they like.

Gardening is included in a larger group called "Recreation & Leisure."

6. I hardly think that gardening is recreation and leisure for most

of us. If you do any grocery shopping, you will know that it is a means of survival.
I bought flats today with the hope that the rain will stop long enough to plant them. 1 flat=2.29. one head of lettuce at the market, 2.29. Tomatoes, the math is more complicated. I'm far better off planting my own.

Actually, I share a garden with a neighbor. It works out great. I buy, he plants, we both weed and water and hopefully will enjoy the fresh veggies this year too.

8. You're right.

I don't have any property other than a paved driveway, but I've been doing my best to turn it into a producing container garden. There are complications, though.

I made saddle-bag-like pockets to hang over the surrounding fence, but someone stole the young plants out of it the 1st night it was up. I'm currently trying to revise the design to make vertical planting pockets much more inconvenient to loot.

Also, I've got a bunch of cats, who like to dig in any containers I use to plant, so I've taken to wrapping them with chicken wire to keep the cats out. So far, so good. We'll see.

I hope your garden is a great producer this year!

might have been a critter, not a human. I lost my green bean seedlings and I'm sure no human was lurking in my back garden making off with them. It would be kind of messy for a human being to make off with plants with dirt dripping all over.

9. my garden has produced some lettuce, radishes,

brocdoli and spinach so far this season. I wish I had planted more broccoli and plan on an entire bed this fall. I can freeze what we don't eat. I am getting into the freezer thing. I'm gearing up to buy one this summer. I'm tired of spending fortunes on iffy foods.
