I've been starting it -- cutting off dead stuff, pulling the weeds that grew all too quickly when it was too hot to work outside. Contemplating transplanting some perennials into beds that seemed to need some new blood.

1. It's getting chilly here too, but not quite ready for clean up.
I imagine we'll have another warm spell before Fall truly arrives. Probably late September or early October for me.

I have been planting pansies and transplanted a few of my perennials to larger pots. I also need to think about what, if any, new bulbs I want to put in.

2. I've pulled most of my nearly 200 tomato plants, and the cukes, squash and beans are done.
Still got eggplant and sweet and hot peppers - and the garden is ready for fall lettuce, chard, beets, arugula and spinach...and my July planted Brussels Sprouts are looking good.

Still, sad for the demise of the tomatoes - though we did put up 24 quarts of tomatoes and 12 pints of roasted tomato sauce.

3. Would like to start
but it's raining like crazy this week, thanks to the latest tropical storm.

4. Here too.
We've had moderately heavy rains yesterday and again today, about an inch each day.

OK, just looked out the window, its actually pouring buckets here right now, so I'd say we may go well over an inch today.
