Anybody here know anything about birds fledging? |

I discovered that I had a chickadee build a nest and hatch eggs in a birdhouse that I have hanging in my white pine tree. I've been working on keeping the dogs away (not an easy task) and yesterday my neighbor and I saw and heard (alot!) the chickadee momma and one of the babies that was learning to fly.
My question is, how long does it generally take for a young chickadee to learn to fly? I just went out to put a sprinkler under the tree since I've been avoiding going out there and I saw another (or same) little chickadee on the ground trying to flap its wings and get airborne. I'm thinking this is a different bird from yesterday because the one yesterday was zipping around pretty well last night. I have no idea how many eggs were laid or how many hatched. Just trying to know when it will be safe to go back there.
