Two of my favorite plants (this year)
Edited on Sat Aug-05-06 05:29 PM by CornField
Okay, I lied and am going to post three. LOL! The last two are tied for second place.

First, gerbera daisies!

This is a photo of my "Barbie" pink ones today. There are five blooms currently with one on the way. In addition to the pink I've got white, dark orange, red, peach and yellow. I saved a couple from sure demise at the end of the nursery season and those have yet to bloom for me. I'm hoping to get a couple of different colors (from the ones I already have) and harvest seeds for next year.

The second place tie is between the sage:

and the Purple Passion:

The sage is just magnificent. It grows and blooms then dies back only to grow and bloom again. The best part about it, however is when the breeze catches it and the scent fills the air.

The purple passion is a new addition. I also found him at a nursery in the end of the season bin. He was looking pretty glum but is already starting to outgrow his hanging basket.

Okay... I shared. Tell (or show) me about your favorite plant(s) this year.

3. Your pic of that mountain laurel is beautiful! I have
no access to anything like that in TX that I know of and have never seen it before, so color me impressed!
