Hello Fellow Gardeners...

I wanted to get your opinion on a website I have FINALLY jumped into with both feet. It's a website with all things about gardening with the emphasis on ORGANIC GARDENING, in fact, URL is FloraOrganica.com

I plan to have a forum where we can discuss and exchange information on all phases of gardening, from Zinnias, trees, rare plants, growing food organically, composting, vermiculture,, roses, cutting gardens, beneficials,hydroponics, ferns, water gardening, wildflowers, landscaping for wildlife,container gardens, garden hardscapes,(decks, benches, arbors, decks,bird houses,bat houses, koi ponds, butterfly houses etc), to organic ways of pest control, perhaps a seed exchange.. etc.

I will also have a blog where I hope to have some of you, (I'm not going to say your names, but you initials are, oh, let's see, Gormy, GatoMoteado, AzDem), write funny, entertaining and informative pieces. I hope to have it launched sometime in the next 2 weeks to a month. A lot of tweaking to do.

You can go to view the site although it hasn't been published to the web but I hope that it serves all of us and provides not only fun but information to make all of over green friends happier and healthier.

....it also looks like you have a ton of contributors already. how were you able to get that much content? did you have to buy the articles or are these all people associated with your website?

3. Well, I had been wanting to do this for many moons

but didn't have the know how to get it done,,SO--- I bought it in a website auction after much perusal and shopping. The thing I liked is that is already had adsense content in place and articles were there and they were appropriate to content. I am adding a newsletter...(BIG FAT HINT) and forum as well as a blog for folks to share their personal experiences in gardening in their area of interests in their very own piece of heaven somewhere in the planet. There's alot of "hammering and moulding" to be done and I'm sure it will be an ever evolving venture BUT I plan to really work at it. I also have a cooking webssite as well. Thanks Gato!!:hi: I've read your posts about gardening in Costa Rica and the beautiful flora and fauna you have all around you all year long. JUst wonderful and thought provoking.

4. the addition of a forum will be great

...then all you'll need will be the traffic to get the forums cooking. once you're up and running with everything, start posting to the gardening net newsgroups and gently advertising your site....there are tons of them (for example: rec.gardens).

if you can get a good chunk of those people to migrate over to your forums you'll have a lot of activity and you can start selling ad space i would think.
