Lilac - to cage or not to cage? |
|
I just bought a President Lincoln lilac and I don't know if it's safe from the neighborhood deer and rabbits. I don't really like the way a cage looks but if I need to I will until it's established or I kill it.

1. Nothing has ever touched my lilacs and we have lots of deer |
|
no rabbits though. I think deer don't like them, but wouldn't swear to that.

2. I have definitely had deer eat my lilacs. |
|
It's very upsetting. I now spray them with deer repellant.

3. hadn't thought of that |

That would be easier, especially since we haven't had much rain lately. I hope this lilac is worth the effort - it is supposed to have Wedgwood blue flowers. It has to make it through the year and hopefully bloom next spring so I can find out.
