My pond is full of little hoppers
Remember that toad orgy in my fishpond? Now we have dozens of tiny toads, each the size of the nail on my pinky. Or at least I think they're toads and not frogs. They're all busy hopping out into the garden.

2. I am so thankful for the hundreds of frogs in our little pond...
We live right next to the wetland park, and sometimes you can't hear yourself think for all the noise from the pond, but in 2 years, I have never had a mosquito bite. :)

3. Cute, yes, but they've become a bit of a chore
Every morning I'm out there, rounding up dozens of the little hoppers and carrying them down to the garden away from where they're likely to get run over, stepped on, or mowed. Hope they all grow up and develop a taste for squash bugs.

6. Be sure and put out a coupla 'toad houses' for them...
...they'll appreciate it and might stay closer to where you want them. I used to soak cracked or broken clay pots, and partially bury or just set them out, to provide cool shade for the toadsies. Water them from time to time so they get all mossy.

Wet climates have their joys...

dessicatedly,
Bright

4. Had some Toads
until the neighbors remodeled their house. All of the construction killed or scared the little guys. In the spring we had 1 frog and we haven't seen him in weeks. :-(
Please send me some tadpoles.
