How do I divide a Calla Lily?
Edited on Sun Jun-24-07 03:10 PM by Viva_La_Revolution
Poor thing has been battered around the past few years, what with moving a few times.

Since it was planted crooked, it has new plants starting, and I want to put them in a separate pot when I fix this poor guy.

as long as the sprout has it's own roots, it should be easy, right?

1. If it's a calla, you should have no problems, just shake the dirt off the bulbs...
...(actualy, I think they're corms) and put them in new pots. On the other hand, if what you have is a peace lily, you should be able to cut any rooted runners with a sharp knife and put the rooted bits in their own pots, yep!

(Hint-- calla lily blooms are rolled up sorta like a cornucopia, peace lily blooms are flatter and have a big spike sticking up in the middle.)

helpfully,
Bright
