Harvest from my little garden (pic)

Recently got back from vacation and my garden was ripe - over-ripe sometimes - with plenty of veggies. I told my neighbors (and especially the one watching my house/pets) to take as much as they wanted, but there is still waaaay too much. One of my children 'artfully arranged' some of the harvest and we took this pic.

Zucchini, cucumbers, several varieties of tomatoes, red basil, currant berries from a bush I planted a few years ago, and some grapes (didn't get very many this year b/c I think I trimmed the vines back too far - oops).

Oh, and I took a pic too of 'my little helper' who faithfully helps me watch the garden - NO ONE or NO CRITTER goes anywhere near my garden without her knowing about it/investigating! ;-)

It IS really a great feeling when all the work of gardening pays off so nicely...although sometimes I think I enjoy the anticipation after I first plant and watching it all grow, as much as the actual harvest (but all of you gardeners probably know that feeling as well- lol).

My little kitty is definitely "Miss personality-plus" .... I'm glad that the neighbors get such a big kick out of her antics too, otherwise she'd have to be a housecat (which really wouldn't 'work' after her being so used to going outdoors now). She's really a great kitty and keeps herself amazingly clean. And, yes, I do have catnip planted in the yard for her - she does seem to use it in 'moderation' though - rubbing up against the edges of the plant, being careful not to crush/roll on the main of the plant.

I still have to figure out how to get my actual pics to show up, instead of just the links. But thank you all who took the time to click and have a look! :hi:

Thanks too for all of you gardeners here that so willingly share what you know. I have really learned a LOT from reading this forum!

As for the grapes, I'm ashamed to say that I don't know what kind they are other than 'green grapes'. I've got one green & one red grape plant each. I bought them for like $1.00 at an end of season sale 6-7 years ago and just stuck them in a very hot sunny place next to the garage (big white blank wall) - never really expecting anything much - and they've done fantasticly there. I threw all the packaging away without paying much attention to what kind they were, b/c I didn't think they'd grow....

The last two years I've had so many grapes that the weight kept pulling the trellis thingy down. So, I 'was ready for them' this year and bought two very sturdy teepee things to support them....well, the surprise was on me, b/c as I said above, I got very very few grapes this year. *sigh* lol I'm going to have to read/find out about grapes some more before I prune them back in the fall - I really have been just 'winging it' with the grapes.

9. Okay.....how did you get the pics to actually display

When I click on the properties of the pics you posted, it LOOKS like the same url that's in my OP. How come I see the pics in YOUR post and only the links in my OP? What am I doing wrong? (or said positively, 'what do I need to do to get the pics to actually display?)

Is that Thai basil? The zukes look like black zucchini variety, one of my favorites.
I need a guard cat for my garden to keep the jays and squirrels at bay.:)

I believe that it is Thai Basil (although the 'tag' for that plant only says 'purple basil'. Apparently there are many different varieties of purple basil, Thai basil being one of them that fall in that category....it sure looks like it). The zucchini is 'Aristocrat' squash (cucurbita pepo) - it's very good! Lastly, I highly recommend guard kitties for the garden - and they make great companions in the wintertime too when you're looking over seed catalogs and dreaming about what you're going to plant in the garden come spring! :-)
