Wal-Mart to stop selling Cypress Mulch harvested in Louisiana
Home Depot and Lowe's are expected to follow suit. It is hoped the move will help keep the Louisiana wetlands from disappearing any faster then it already is. Opponents say the move will wipe out the 30 million dollar cypress industry in Louisiana. I do not believe the move will effect the demand for mulch, there will just be less cypress mulch available.

1. Yay! good news
My impression is that the cypress species are already under a lot of stress. Too many have been cut already.

2. Could something sustainable
like bamboo be used for mulch? I wonder.

6. They'd attract animals
and probably leach toxins into the soil.

But it's a thought.
