Does anyone know what kind of fruit tree this is?

I took this photo last March, in Mississippi. I'd like to enter it into the Photo Group's March calendar contest. But I'd like to know what it is before I submit it.

I'm pretty sure it's some kind of flowering fruit tree. It bordered a small orchard that had a variety of fruit trees. Anyone able to identify it for me?

1. It looks like a blueberry to me.

Maybe a Highbush Blueberry. Compare to pics at link.

2. Are there blueberry trees?

The blooms in my photo were on a plant that was taller than me, maybe six feet. Other than never having heard of a blueberry tree, the buds and leaf shape do look similar.

3. The highbush blueberry can be up to 15 feet tall.

That is according to a book I have. I have only seen shrubby blueberries, around 4 feet tall around here(NC mountains).

The flower looks like a blueberry flower, for sure. I really don't know what else it could be.

4. I grew up in New England,

near the Appalachian Trail. We had those same shrubby blueberries as in I saw in the mountains outside Asheville. I never saw the berry bushes in the spring, because I lived in town. Didn't get to the mountains until I went to camp in late summer. Cool to think there's a blueberry tree. I'll have to check that out when I get my own little piece of land again someday. 6. another vote for blueberry

and yes, they can grow very tall.

i planted mine on a side of the house that didn't get the best sun, but was the area i had for them. Between the house and my vw bus which wasn't running at the time. Eventually we stood on the bus top to pick the tops of them, now i climb to the roof of the house to pick the tops.

they grew for the sun.
