First green salad from the garden today :-)
And one very tiny radish, lol. I snipped leaves off of various plants so we had a salad of spring mix, buttercrunch lettuce, baby kale, nasturtium and radish leaves. I bought extra spicy spring mix seeds this year. Yummy!

The tomatoes are almost ready to transplant. I am putting them out a bit early this year under hot caps. I will get the beans and cukes planted next week.

I think I've got some radish pretty darned close, my lettuce had to be re-seeded but it's coming right along. my carrots have finally got the carrot ferny looking leaves on em, the tomato is about 3" tall and my sweet peas are growing like weeds I swear! unfortunately, we're going into a cooler period, in fact I may need to cover them Saturday night

2. I started the spring mix under a cover ages ago,
so that is why I got enough to make a small salad this early. I have grown the micro- spring mix on my protected back deck in a pot before, and that worked great for early salad, too. I amy ask for a real cold frame for my b-day this year and try to grow green leafies and radish year round in the big garden.

The radish was small, but quite piquant. I will wait another week before I try another. It is warmed up here, so I am going to get warm season crops going with some night time protection this weekend.
