Just close your eyes and picture some red tomatoes, green tomatoes, little cucumbers, and some yellow flowers.

Now picture me picking those red tomatoes for a nice salad this evening.

1. I planted my tomato plants back in January.

Most are starting to burn up already. Except for the Homestead plants.

3. Well, I had some tomatoes from Florida in my salad, too,

but they were from the fruit stand near my home. I think they were Ruskins, which are the best you can buy that aren't homegrown. But I'm so jealous of your already-ripe tomatoes and cucumbers. Up here in North Georgia, mine are about a month away. I did have strawberries out of my garden for breakfast this morning, though, so there...

4. well - the red ripe tomatoes are from my October plants -

just picked about a dozen a bit ago from those plants.

My new plants have a bunch of green ones - and they should be ready in a month also.

The cucumbers are only a few inches long - so have a ways to go.

Did pick a few peaches the other day. Not as big as those great Georgia peaches - small, but nice and juicy and very tasty.

Where are you located in North Ga? We camp annually up there - near Blairsville. Great camping.

5. What a joy it must be to have tomatoes year round. At least

we can get those sweet grape tomatoes at Kroger, and they're not half bad, but nothing in comparison to a freshly sliced Cherokee Purple tomato still warm from the garden.

Blairsville is a very nice area. We are about 70 miles SW of there--near I-75 and about halfway between Atlanta & Chattanooga. Have you ever been to Tallulah Gorge? It's worth a trip. Thanks for spending your tourist dollars in Georgia.
