I love tomatoes and probably would have purchased some at the grocery store that I would be now throwing away.

Instead, I have delicious, sweet cherry tomatoes daily.

We are really on to something.
Nothing is more delicious and nutritious as what we are putting into our bodies.
No scare of salmonella for us :grouphug:

It's such a great feeling to grow you're own vegies.

Made the compost, nothing stronger than diluted natural dishsoap sprayed on the plants.
Totally natural, healthy vegies.

3. I wish mine were ripening!

I think it will be another month before I am drowning in determinate tomatoes!

I planted two more crops of them, 8 and 10 weeks later. If they all grow well, I may be turning red by fall.

6. Same here,

We got lots of green but no red, I did notice two orange ones Friday but after a closer look, something got to then and there were rotting, all the other are fine.

5. I can't wait!

I have 11 tomato plants so that I can can up a storm and still enjoy them well into the next growing season. I have some small green ones now but it is going to be a while since I got a late start.

I remember when you could just get some wonderful tomatoes at the grocery store. Every year, great tasting tomatoes. Not a single tomato from the store tastes like anything but cardboard anymore. It seems like they are trying to get us used to tasteless food all the while they make more money. Blechh. Nasty stuff I will not even look at anymore. I will have to use the farmers market until we ripen up here.

Isn't it awesome to have your own that you know are good? Homemade compost etc. Yummy. It feels grand.

It's so much better to consume something when you know what went into its production. Not to mention the fact that our homegrown produce tastes so much better than anything we could be buying in the stores.

8. Nothing but flowers

Here at this latitude, 42 North. I think I put them in the ground 3+1/2 weeks ago.

I went out to see if I had any sungolds yet, but no. Maybe next week. We have been getting some serious heat here on the east coast. My eggplant has been loving it, and the maters are ripening up fast :)
