First post in this group. First garden pics.

I need to explore more of DU, my wife told me about this group, already found some good advice in a couple of threads.

Here are some pics of my garden, I have another row to dig up and plant but the area was so full of rocks I've been putting it off.

I have peppers,(bell, banana, jalapeno) grape and early tomatoes, squash, zucchini, cucumber beans and corn. Everything but the tomatoes and a couple of the peppers are from seed.

Just wanted to share.

Your corn and summer squash look great. I take pictures of my garden every couple of weeks and post them here, it's amazing how much difference a couple of weeks can make.

I love the therapeutic nature of a small garden. I always find room for Okra, not necessarily for the veggie but for the blooms. I have my second planting of Creole tomatoes (from seeds from the first planting) on standby. Plants are about an inch "tall" right now. Got some exotic ornamental pepper seeds from a catalog. Starting to fool with them now. We have a nice long growing season here in South Mississippi. Your white brick background should be a great help in adding heat and light to your crop. May your garden grow and prosper.

5. We moved here from Louisiana so we are missing that rich delta soil

fortunately our city makes mulch out of the yard trimmings and limbs they pick up. We can get a mulch/soil mix for $4 for a 40 pound bag.

We are going to dig the other row Saturday morning, with the heat here we should have time for stuff to grow. We'll put some okra in it, hard to make gumbo without it.

I know about the growing season in South Mississippi, my aunt had a wonderful huge garden in Ocean Springs, that and her roses were incredible.

7. We're very lucky here in the San Joaquin Valley-

We can get compost for 5 bucks a truckload. Hard to beat that. I have noticed, however, that the truckload I brought in sprouted a couple of mushrooms.

4. One was kind of holding something up with the base. I'll flip them right side up this week.

But then again, I'm definitely more beginner level when it comes to gardening so I didn't give it much thought :)
