I swear I had no idea that horn worms would be just as attracted to my potato plants as to the tomato plants. I have pulled ten to eleven of the ugly ass monsters off the potato plants between last night and this afternoon.

The chickens are enjoying the little impromptu snacks, tho.

1. I wish I could have chickens.

I've been lucky so far with pests. I have lot's of yellow jackets and dragon flies, and I'm told that helps. I also released lady bugs recently. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed and knocking on wood.

2. Once I bought and released some ladybugs and they flew away

never to be seen or heard from again. :(

Once in awhile, I'll see one in my flowers, though.

3. Did you release at night, or during the day?

Some smart person told me they don't fly at night, so if you want them to stick around wait til night time to release.

I almost bought some the other day but then decided not to.
I'll still see the odd one in my garden...

5. Potatoes and tomatoes are cousins and attract the same...

insects. Spray BT weekly and you will have no problems. BT is organic.
