It's so sad.
You guys know what I mean... Those poor people out there not like us. The people who have salsa made from only one kind of tomato. (I always use 4 or 5 different varieties for my salsa.) I feel bad for the people who don't know the joy of picking a fresh ear of corn and eating it right there in the garden. And what about those poor slobs who actually have to buy green beans at the store?

It's just so sad. I'm going to need a little time alone now.

(Totally taking a page from Bvars book here.)

1. You are so right
You are just lamenting those that have to eat fresh salsa with one type of tomato. What about those who have to get theirs from a JAR! And green beans from a CAN!

Now that will make the baby jesus cry!

3. My heart just aches.
We remembered the poor people in our prayers as Starkraven and myself dined on fajitas and chips with a Fiesta Salsa made from four different color tomatoes (Purple Cherokee, Rutgers, Early Girls, Yellow Plums), two colored onions, 3 different peppers, fresh earthy cilantro, and whatever other special ingredients Starkraven snuck in.

A riot of colors and explosive tastes. Every bite different and better than the last.

I wonder what tasteless, processed, factory farmed garbage the poor people on Wall St were forced to eat yesterday. Real Wealth certainly transcends toys and money.
Kidding aside, we are grateful for and humbled by the garden.
Thanks, Mother.

Nice photos. I love evolution (before, during, after) photos. I invented the concept in a previous life, and am collecting voluntary royalties. :)
Next year, I swear I am going to follow through with the idea of taking a single photo everyday from the same spot throughout the growing season, and compiling them into a film strip.

Thanks for the smile.
:)

5. Oh yes!
I've got a new friend in the neighborhood who also happens to garden. My most recent salsa contained his lemon tomatoes, his yellow plums, my cherry, early girls, roma, and celebrity. Only one kind of onion, store bought, and my own jalapenos.

Love the idea about the daily picture.

4. And boo hoo
... for all those people who don't know a freshly picked head of lettuce lasts for weeks in the refrigerator, not days--like the store-bought kind.

6. Lettuce is one of my next ventures.
I've done leaf, too late in the season and it turned peppery. I've not done head lettuces.
