I just LOVE the days when the garden offers up a lot at once. This was all collected a couple of days ago from my container garden. There are a ton of herbs, a beet, onions, tomatoes, young pea shoots. The snap, sweet and snow peas had already been put away along with the green beans and lettuce.



I am really excited about next year now that i have a better feel for how the plants behave. I had no idea that 3 eggplants would produce sooooooooo proficiently. :wow: I also expected my 8 zucchini/squash plants to give me more than a SINGLE (tiny) zuke. I have learned that coming up with organic fertilizer concoctions can be quite fun and that my strawberries need far less light than i originally believed. Overall it has been a real learning curve.

Of course the best part of the whole process is using things that your cultivated and nurtured to feed your family.

Isn't it fun? This is our first year after 10 years of not gardening. We are amazed!
I have little plastic shopping baskets and we just hand them to people when they come over. Our youngest daughter picked lettuce, snow peas, cilantro, chives, nasturtiums, and lemon thyme today. YAY!

Our tomatoes need a couple weeks more sun here in the Pacific Northwest.

Your peppers are twice the size of ours so far.

I'm doing up a veggie lasagna tomorrow -- starring my "Japanese Millionaire" eggplants, here with my fave hot peppers....

PS: My zukes have been a disappointment this year -- but I haven't given up on them yet!! Still trying to de-bug.
