OK, which one of you jokers works for Amazon.com?

So I just went to Amazon and ordered the following (which I won't get to read until I go to the USA, thanks to the incredibly expensive and erratic Egyptian Customs Service):

--a photo collection on Russian history
--several books on military history, the mere titles of which will put any normal person to sleep immediately
--two books on an obscure WWII aircraft (the B-32 Dominator)

So I go to check-out and Amazon has "Recommendations" for me. Hoping to turn up another obscure history tome or something, I eagerly click...

And here are my recommendations:

A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose (Oprah's Book Club, Selection 61) by Eckhart Tolle

A Civilization of Love: What Every Catholic Can Do to Transform the World by Carl Anderson. (I'm an atheist, but thanks anyway. I guess.)

The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment by Eckhart Tolle (WTF is this Eckhart Tolle creature? The pen name for a whole room full of woo-woos, I'd guess.)

Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia by Elizabeth Gilbert (Did I mention I'm an atheist?)

Finally, and most insultingly of all...

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne

No, wait a minute. Amazon didn't have any recommendations for me...

Sorry, we have no recommendations for you in this category today. Please check back later or browse these top-selling items.

TOP-SELLING ITEMS?

That's it. Civilization as we know it is doomed. Start stockpiling water and canned food. And guns. LOTS of guns. We will need them when the hordes of Zombie Woo-Woos roam the earth and infect us with Eckhart Tolle Syndrome.

1. My guess is that they're pushing a bunch of dogs
that haven't been selling lately.

Most of that stuff has a brief period of success that drops off very quickly as people who read it and took it seriously found out it didn't work.
