Homeopathic crap now mixed in with scientific remedies at drugstore.
I can't help noticing that more and more, homeopathic stuff is becoming added to drug store shelves where verified therapies are displayed. I not only saw numerous varieties of that Airborne stuff (invented by a teacher! not a pharmacist) mixed in with the cold relief products at Rite Aid, but there was a store-brand knock-off availale. There were others too, but that is what I remember.

I find that quite reprehensible for a drug-store to be passing off this crap as if it was actually a remedy for anything.

12. I always found it really strange that Drug Stores used to sell
tobacco products and beer/wine in the 70's and 80's.

:wtf:

I guess that is a guarantee to bring in customers 20 years down the road.

7. It's about a high school science teacher who gets terminal cancer and starts cooking Meth.
Light-hearted family comedy on Bravo.

3. I always hide the homeopathic ear ache medicine for children when I see it.
Along with the homeopathic teething pills.

What kind of cruel asshole would sell placebos to be given to children in pain?

8. My grocery store's pharmacy has a selection of metal bracelets in the analgesics aisle
And they sell Turtlensue's beloved Kinoki footpads in the "As Seen on TV" section of the store.

It's crap, and I don't know how they can justify it. You'd hope that the pharmacy, at least, would make at least a token effort in support of science.

9. CVS is selling de-tox footpads

http://www.cvs.com/CVSApp/cvs/gateway/detail?prodid=367101

Helps remove toxins. Improves circulation. Combats fatigue. Stimulates reflexology points.* Enhances circulation.* Strong absorption capabilities.* Bamboo Vinegar: Distilled over a 2 year process, and of the highest quality and purity, our Bamboo Vinegar is 30 times more effective than ordinary vinegar. It contains rich minerals with strong absorption capabilities that accelerate the elimination process of impurities. Tourmaline exerts a cleansing and liberating energy upon our entire nervous system with a clearing and stabilizing effect. Tourmaline is one of the few minerals in nature that emits far infrared energy. This stimulates and enhances the cells' functions and promotes healing.

Tourmaline emits far infrared energy! Damn, I feel like an idiot for having spent years in a lab working on high speed IR led designs.

So, I have written to CVS customer service for more information on this product.

What happens if you take it off the shelf, go the pharmacist, and ask the pharmacist, "What does this do, and what condition does it treat?"

I'm going to try this with foot pads and "Head-On".

11. CVS is particularly infected with this crap.
Every section has some kind of homeopathic "alternative."

Granted, it's probably a pure business decision, plus when the homeo stuff fails, they'll be back for the real medicine so you get to make two sales.

13. You could also try slapping a tape recorder on the counter
if you suspect they'll give you any flannel.
