So, if you saw the Firefly thread in the Lounge
you'd know that the woman (womyn?) writing that nonsense is pretty messed up...and now for proff she's completely fucking bonkers:

http://allecto.wordpress.com/2008/05/08/gardasil-women-hurt-by-medicine/

NOT ONLY is Gardasil a super-secret weapon of the Bush regime, it's also a symptom of male supremicist medicine!

4. Bullshit in paragraph one
"I also did not know that in having the Guardasil shot that I was still not 100% protected from still getting cervical cancer and that I would still need to get Pap smear checks."

The few adds I've seen for Guardasil specifically state you still need exams and that the strains of HPV it protects against don't cause all of viral induced cervical cancers (not to mention that not all are virally induced, any cell in the body can transform). I don't see how anyone who gets it doesn't know that.

Patriarchal medicine? I thought it was the RW that was mostly opposed so cancer would be punishment for not being "nice girls" and keeping our legs closed until marriage. Because you know that if you look pretty, make sure your house is clean, and your kids look presentable when he gets home to your freshly cooked meal your husband will never cheat on you and give you STDs (as for lesbians, well you just need this bible and that'll fix you). And if you don't go out alone at night, dress provocatively, drink too much, or dance in a sexy fashion you will never get raped and get STDs. See how easy it is to prevent this sort of thing? :puke:

While I will certainly agree that things like sleep problems that are more common in women are still studied mostly in men should be different in terms of research (especially with regards to hormone changes) this just boggles my mind.

I would have had that vaccine already if insurance didn't deem me too old.
