Okay, I'm gonna try this again
I noticed an increase in traffic to my website, Eureka Science (http://eurekasci.16.forumer.com/index.php) and in increase of members joining of late..So I am gonna work on adding to it again..Hope you guys can come back or come and visit...
Thanks,
Susan
PS--thanks DuStange...

Oh, my mission statement:
So I have become increasingly frustrated with the anti-science bias in this country. What little science the public does hear about is often through the filter of the media who tends to play fast and loose with the facts sometimes in an effort to entertain. I am trying to search out the truth through rationality and science. I am also trying to help inform the public in as close as possible in an apolitical non-religiously affiliated way.
If you want to preach your religion or politics, or political agenda. this is not the site for you. If you want to find out about alternative medicine/homeopathic remedies this is not the site for you. If you want to find out about other new age topics like astrology, parapsychology this is not the site for you.
However if you are interested in learning more about science and debating the issues in an open and honest way, than this is indeed the site for you!

4. I like the Boobies section myself.
Sure, it costs an extra $4.95 a month, but getting to watch presentations like "An Erotic Exploration of Fermat's Last Theorem," ... priceless.

is like teaching a hole puncher, uh, mathematics.

JGD should stick to teaching him the mysteries of Cabana-ing.

3. Sounds like it could become interesting but what's the value added?

From a marketing perspective, you might try to frame what the site is about more positively. Your descriptions both here and on the site are entirely negative ("if you are interested in ... you don't belong here" is basically what it tells the public). So positively, what are you trying to accomplish? What is your "value added" that is not covered by other science sites?

Also, by going negative, you give the impression that your site does not welcome debate. But that's what people go on line for. One of my favorite DU forums is the Science Forum, but it basically consists of someone posting some science news or images, and five people saying "that's cool!" In a way, the consensus works against it being a flourishing forum. That may work for a forum on a big collection of forums like DU, but not on a stand-alone forum such as you are trying to create.

Finally, you might want to cut back on your own posting. Would you have stayed on DU if the first thing you saw on your first visit here was 50 posts all by Skinner? The admins here basically create the framework and the public creates the content. On your site, you are creating most of the content. Seeing "turtlensue" listed all the way down each page probably puts many casual visitors off.

Hope that helps, and good luck.
