Central NYS is dead, and it has been for some time. At least FWA is large enough, and in the middle of the mid-Western transportation corridor, with a couple of decent schools (IPFW and Indiana Tech) that it still has a good deal of life left in it (and jobs). I love our public library system (one of the best in the country), and there is a small, but dedicated, cadre of lefty types in the city. Also, despite being so god-soaked, because the lefty types here, especially the Democrats, trend more toward the center than elsewhere, you generally don't find too many people buying into the kinds of extreme woo like we're talking about in this thread. Sure, there's the nutjob conspiracy theorists, but they're everywhere and most people to some degree or another buy into at least one conspiracy theory. So no, I don't miss NY that much. Besides, C and our dog, aren't there.

None of the Giza Pyramids have levitated. No reported alien footprints on the Step Pyramid at Saqqara. The Bent Pyramid didn't straighten out and the Red Pyramid didn't turn grey in honor of its Returning Alien Overlords.
