I had a nightmare
Every channel on my TV was showing that stupid colon cleansing infomercial AND I couldn't turn it off! Yes I fell asleep with the TV on and that goddamned infomercial was on! I'm really tired of the woo woo infomercials...I saw one the other day that claimed arthritis can be cured!when did outright fraud become okay on TV? Where is the FDA?:banghead:

1. I think they can say whatever they want
as long as they include that fine print about 'not intended to treat or cure any disease.' Did they include that at the beginning or end of the infomercial? Maybe it's only required on bottles and it comes with the bottle of shit they want you to buy. I don't know the details of the requirement.

2. That's exactly it. No FDA required with that disclaimer.

3. Then I'd like to know what the FDA can do about print publications
I work in a USPS processing plant, and let me tell you, some of these "health" "magazines" actually do go so far as to claim they can cure things like type-2 diabetes (an example I saw at work yesterday).

The truly depressing part? I sort thousands of these magazines a week.

Thousands. Think about that for a minute.

.....

Thousands.
