What do you think of the movie Oh God?

I have to admit that it's long been a favorite, in no small part because George Burns is just such a delight on the screen.

But I just watched again for the first time in well over a decade, and I'd forgotten just how magnificent Paul Sorvino is in his role as the Reverend Willie Williams, brilliantly prefiguring the evangelical excesses of the 80s, the 90s, and the 00s.

1. I like it a lot, good for an annual viewing.

It came out when I was in Catholic school, and probably contributed some to my skepticism of that place.
Like Lennon's Imagine, Oh, God! was considered to be blasphemous. That made no sense to me.

for talking about God. It's the pious showboater's favorite word. Indicates proper toadying.
