If I see the phrase "Patriarchal War on Nature" again I am going to have steam come out of ears.

Especially if it is used as an attack on space colonization. :banghead:

Maybe it's my Asperger's showing, but I hate it when people make obsessive nonsensical connections between ideas, As I am fond of saying, "this is this, not something else".

1. it's identical to right wingers
"COMMUNISM!" "SOCIALISM!" "POLITICALLY CORRECT!"

they just shout their catch phrases whenever they don't like something, regardless of whether they apply

2. I don't think I've seen that one...
but I can say that if I ever see anyone again using or justifying far-right sources, or stating that because the MSM is corrupted, that means that a teabagger blog could be preferable - I will definitely have steam coming out of my ears. Which is why I frequently do.

3. I hear you there.
Some people seem to think that we as a species should go back to living in caves, or some kind of idealized 14th century peaceful agrarian lifestyle that never really existed, and that that'll be better for everybody.

Not to mention--in orbit, it's not like there's a rainforest to burn down or anything.

4. I think patriarchy exists, but the terms 'patriarchy' and 'patriarchal'
Edited on Tue Oct-13-09 03:35 PM by Anarcho-Socialist
are often used for wooish and neoluddite discourses. You're right on the money to say "nonsensical connections between ideas."

5. Exactly!. Where these connections come from I have no clue.
They certainly are not based on logic. And it makes a mockery of actual women's rights issues
