Real Mayans denounce 2012 woo theories

But most archaeologists, astronomers and Maya say the only thing likely to hit Earth is a meteor shower of New Age philosophy, pop astronomy, Internet doomsday rumors and TV specials such as one on the History Channel which mixes "predictions" from Nostradamus and the Mayas and asks: "Is 2012 the year the cosmic clock finally winds down to zero days, zero hope?"

1. It's a schism among woos!
That thread in GD pointing this out sure did hit a raw nerve. "Those woos aren't REAL woos!"

2. No Troo Woo Fallacy?
Ha! Thanks! I didn't see that thread, but now I will have to look it up.

Of course, this won't make a bit of difference. Anymore than demonstrating that spoon-bending or fire-walking aren't supernatural.

4. Eh, what do any of us know about Real Mayans?
Some guy in a ballcap and t-shirt, or maybe even a labcoat, says he's a Mayan, how are we gonna know?

The other side though, will undoubtedly produce guys who look like this:

Nevermind that he's probably a day trader and is addicted to ESPN and Johnny Walker Black, the dude's chapeau means he's into the "old ways" and has racial wisdom we and his westernized brethren lack. You can't argue with a hat like that. You just can't.
