1. I feel your pain
A patient tonight told me they refused the h1n1 because it was a plot against jews and muslims....you know, because it's SWINE FLU and Jews and Muslims can't eat pork....or something? I'm still not sure where she was going with that one...

6. I heard that one all the time in Egypt.

Except it was a Jewish plot to kill off Muslims, since Jewish doctors invented the vaccine.

A variant threw in the ever-popular "sexual fear" meme - vaccines make Muslim men impotent/sterile.

One vaccination atrocity story in Egypt was apparently true, though you don't hear much about it - certainly not from the Egyptian government.

Some years ago, the govt. sent medical teams into rural Egypt to vaccinate poor people.

In an attempt to impress their bosses and save money - I guess - some of the team members re-used medical supplies. Including syringes.

Result: lots of people infected with Hepatitis strains from the dirty needles.

2. You know...

I made it all the way to 17 before I found out there were people who actually believed the world was created in 7 days, there was an actual flood, noah lived to be hundreds of years old, etc. I made it to 18 before I found out it was even a possibility to reject evolution. I thought I had seen it all. But I made it to 25 and now I know there are people that a.) attack Pasteur over Germ Theory--implying Germ theory is some corporatist scam and b.) think that baking soda can cure cancer. What will tomorrow bring.

11. That's actually what I said. Why would they want to kill off customers since they want more money?
Was told, no, that's not how it works. I quit listening very hard around then.

Got my H1N1 vaccine from them yesterday. Same day they announced in the Press that studies show that the H1N1 nasal spray had comparable safety and efficacy as the seasonal flu mist nasal spray. How evul of them to do the actual science to back up claims
