Speaking of Faith Tools...the Subject line is the latest scam by our old buddy, Peter Popoff. And his charming wife Elizabeth (who bears an eerie resemblance to that Lion-Woman recently posted by Heddi).
Some of you know Popoff as the faith-healer who was busted by James Randi back in the 80's. Popoff wore a micro-earphone thru which his wife relayed info about his
suckers supplicants. Randi counter-bugged the pair and hilarity ensued.
Yesterday morning I turned on the TV and caught a few minutes of Popoff's latest BS. "Miracle Spring Water" is self-explantory, and the "Anointed Faith Tool" is a cheap, tacky picture of Jesus with some crap written on it.
Used together, they can magically cancel all your current debt and put money in your pocket! I guess debt-healing is a better racket than faith-healing these days.
I made a few notes...
"I won $2500 in a lottery, then $1300 in another lottery. And I was cured of a soreness."The "soreness" makes me wonder if this person has been hanging around with Catholic priests. But that would be mean, so I won't type it. Oh, wait...
"Miraculously and supernaturally cancel ALL your debts!" - Popoff kept repeating that line, which I guess gets him off the hook with the FCC and other govt. agencies. Though it shouldn't.
"And it's absolutely FREE!" - only it's not, because Popoff also reminds the listeners: "To get something from God, you have to GIVE something to God!"
Uh-huh.
Here's a link to Popoff's Godly Debt Cancellation site. Warning: audio starts as soon as you hit the site, with lots of testimonials. The very same testimonials I saw him using on TV, in fact.
