Oh great...

Just came across this organization. To make it clear, such organizations in the UK have FAR less influence than equivalent ones in the USA but I still find them depressing.

And they have been trying to persuade MPs and candidates to sign the following declaration. (Fortunately, few have; but there are some, and not totally confined to Tories):

By the way, if you want to know HOW I learned about this, it's because a newly-elected youngish married female Tory MP has just been caught in an affair with a Tory activist 10 years younger than she, and it was noted that she had signed this declaration. Quite like the Clinton-impeachers, I suppose, all having their own affairs!

7. The Emperor Augustus tried to bring back Traditional Roman Family Values...
It worked out so well that he had to exile his own granddaughter for immorality. And his favorite poet, Ovid - whose "Art of Love" turned out to be a lot more popular than dour Imperial edicts about family values.

8. I looked up 'Northern Ireland', 'Belfast', and related terms on the site
After all, that has been the region for lots of sectarian conflict over the years, and you might have thought that a British Christian (or any) group might be interested in such things as the peace agreement and its maintenance; the sectarians' loss (after a lurid scandal!) of East Belfast to the Alliance in the election; the Bloody Sunday investigation and report; etc. Not a dicky bird on any of these things - the only things that interested this site were to do with opposition to abortion, right-to-die legislation, and hate-speech legislation that might protect teh gays!

Fortunately, I think this site and its organizers will eventually sink without trace, but they are certainly a nasty bunch.
