Will anti-vaxers ever be happy?
They're like Republicans--no news is good news.

Announce a new vaccine and they get their panties in a bunch.

Announce that said vaccine is having a positive effect and they complain about something else or call the announcement misleading.

If there's a public health crisis, they get their panties in a bunch.

It must be hard work being perpetually upset.

1. yeah, sounds like fundies
Even if absolute Biblically literal law was imposed, there would still be bitching about how it doesn't go far ENOUGH

6. Or because it wouldn't be their personal version.
"What do you mean I can't wear poly-blends?!? Everybody knows that part is metaphorical!!!"

7. that's the best part
they rage over things that are covered once, briefly, in a very old book of the Bible, but completely ignore things that are harped on OVER and OVER again. Blood sacrifice! There are a bazillion chapters about that, and one verse about homosexuality. Why do they obsess over the latter and not the former?

2. They generally are anti-modern medicine
The same cranks who lost their minds over Gardasil also claim that Big Pharma is hiding cures from cancer cause they make too much money off chemotherapy. Ugh. Yep. Prevention of ever getting cancer is clearly a big way to keep people paying....:banghead:

5. But Gardasil doesn't prevent cancer...It just prevents strains of HPV which cause cancer.
Pretty trivial if you ask some people. The goalpost never stands still.

3. That's why Richard Hofstadter called conspiracy theorists "double-sufferers".
And really, at the heart of it, anti-vaxers are conspiracy theorists.

4. Who are indistinguishable in practice from religious fundamentalists.
And hey...some fundamentalists reject vaccines on religious grounds!
